SHAPING & TREATING
final processes
Once cast, steel begins its transformation into usable products through a variety of shaping and treating processes. Steel mills employ methods such as hot rolling, cold rolling, pickling and oiling, galvanizing, and forging—each tailored to achieve specific mechanical properties and surface finishes.
The processed steel then goes on to serve countless industries, becoming everything from the cars we drive and the bridges we cross to the buildings we live and work in, truly forming the backbone of modern society.
