When people think of steelmaking, they picture massive furnaces, molten metal, and showers of sparks. But before all of that can happen, it must start with an essential piece of equipment: the scrap bucket. At EAFab, where advanced Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) technology melts scrap into new steel, we ensure the scrap bucket plays a critical, efficient role in every melting cycle.

Steelmaking is powerful and great, when the right systems and protocols are implemented. Not without the right systems in place. That’s where Off-Gas and Dust & Off-Gas Collection (DOC) Systems come in. At EAFab, we engineer custom systems that help steel mills manage gasses safely, efficiently, and reliably, all while protecting the environment and prioritizing safety.

In the steelmaking process, the job is not over once the scrap is melted in the EAF. To meet today’s quality standards, many steel-producing shops rely on an additional furnace, known as the Ladle Metallurgical Furnace (LMF), to polish and refine the molten steel before it’s sent to be cast into its final form. At EAFab, we design and manufacture components for LMF systems, featuring a unique roof design element, distinct from any other competitor, known as the Gator-Mouth.

What Is the EAF Roof? The EAF Roof covers the top of the Electric Arc Furnace. It helps keep the extreme heat inside, protects the electrodes, and allows hot gases to escape safely.
