We recently had the pleasure of hosting students from the Industrial Arts Workshop (IAW) Summer Boot Camp at our fabrication and welding shop in Pittsburgh, PA. The visit provided an exciting opportunity for these high school students to experience firsthand how skilled trades professionals transform raw materials into finished products through fabrication, welding, and craftsmanship.
Students Tour Fabrication Shop
During their tour, students explored various areas of our facility and learned about the many steps involved in the steel fabrication process. They observed how materials are measured, cut, formed, assembled, and welded to create high-quality components and structures. Our team demonstrated how precision, attention to detail, and safety are essential to every project we complete.

Fabrication Equipment and Welding Displays A highlight of the visit was introducing students to the world of welding. Students learned about different welding processes, the equipment used by professional welders, and the critical role welding plays in manufacturing and fabrication. They also had the chance to see skilled welders at work and gain a better understanding of the training and expertise required to succeed in the trade.
Employee and Student Q & A Session
Throughout the day, our team members shared their experiences working in fabrication and welding, discussing career opportunities, apprenticeship programs, and the growing demand for skilled trades professionals. Students asked thoughtful questions about daily responsibilities, workplace technology, and the paths that led many of our employees into rewarding careers.
We believe that exposing students to real-world fabrication and welding environments helps inspire the next generation of makers, builders, and problem-solvers. Programs like the Industrial Arts Workshop provide valuable opportunities for young people to explore hands-on careers and discover the many possibilities available within the skilled trades.

We would like to thank the students and instructors for their enthusiasm and engagement during their visit. It was a privilege to share our knowledge, showcase our work, and support career exploration in fabrication and welding.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with educational programs that encourage hands-on learning and workforce development. The future of the fabrication and welding industries depends on talented young people like these students, and we are proud to play a small role in their journey.
