Steel Safety Day 2026

Steel Safety Day 2026

4/28/26, 4:00 PM

Established in 2014 by the World Steel Organization, Steel Safety Day is a global movement aligned with the International Labour Organisation’s World Day for Safety and Health. This day unites the global steel community in a common cause—addressing and mitigating the five most prevalent factors contributing to serious safety incidents: machinery safety, working at heights, falling objects, on-site traffic, and process safety incidents.

These incidents are not just challenges; they are opportunities for the entire industry to learn, adapt, and enhance safety measures. Steel Safety Day aims not just to highlight these challenges but also to foster an environment in which these incidents are meticulously analyzed and addressed, creating a ripple effect of safety awareness across the global steel industry.

The objective of Steel Safety Day is not just to create awareness; it’s to instill a sense of responsibility and commitment toward creating a safer working environment. It’s about transforming every steel mill across the globe into a sanctuary of safety where every individual can contribute to the steel industry’s growth with the assurance of their well-being.
